GAME STATS: How did UP get another double win and start the streak?

Both the UP Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams got their second win in as many games last Wednesday. So how did they get the victories ton start a streak?

Same as last game, both teams executed on both ends of the court. – good offense and good defense.

First up was the UP Men’s Basketball Team, who shot way better as compared to their first game (45.9% vs 38.2%) and dished out more assists during the game (27 vs 16). On defense, They doubled their opponent’s steals (13 vs 6) and forced 22 turnovers (less than UP’s 16) that they converted to 17 points (vs UE’s 10).

Moving on to the UP Women’s Basketball Team, the ladies played to their strength and dominated the paint, scoring 38pts in the shaded lane (vs UE’s 18). They outrebounded their opponents (56 vs 35) and limited UE to just 6 second chance points. On defense, they almost doubled their opponent’s steals (18 vs 10) and forced 29 turnovers (less than UP’s 24) that they converted to 28 points (vs UE’s 11) – same story as the men’s.

On areas they need to improve on, UPMBT needs to control their fouls (23 vs 15). This led to UE having 30 freethrow attempts vs UP’s 13. For the UPWBT, they need to check on their execution since they shot worse compared to their first game (33.8% vs 47.6%) and they did not tally any fastbreak points.
