Bright Akhuetie lead all players in the UAAP as he claims the Most Valuable Player recognition with 82.50 statical points (SPs). In just his first year for the UP Fighting Maroons, Akhuetie has already brought bright impact to the team.

Not only did UP Fighting Maroons made it to the Final 4 this season, but the Nigerian powerhouse is also UP’s first MVP in 32 years! Akhuetie totalled 18.86 points and 14.6 rebounds per game in his UAAP debut.

On the other hand, last year’s rookie of the year awardee, Juan Gomez de Liano, proved sophomore slump is a myth. He finished #4 overall in the MVP race and is one of the Mythical Five selection with 16.21 points, 6.64 rebounds, 5.5 assists per game in UAAP Season 81.

Angelo Kouame of Ateneo de Manila University claims second place to Akhuetie but will not receive Mythical 5 honors. Alvin Pasaol, Juan Gomez de Liano, Justine Baltazar and Jerrick Ahanmisi completes the Mythical 5.
