#UAAPSeason82 Preview: NU Bulldogs Awaits Spark Aside from Young Heroes!

Published

on

In UAAP Season 81, the NU Bulldogs showed the entire community that they will  be a force to reckon with in the coming years.

The decision from Gilas Youth standouts Dave Ildefonso and John Lloyd Clemente to take their talents in NU was really big for the community – something they really don’t realize. Fans of NU show little support compared to the schools in UAAP.

Now, these young guns have more experience but what the Bulldogs really need is strong support from their seniors. They have the lankiest big man in Issa Gaye, which we hope would bring back his stellar Season 80 game. They have veterans in JV GallegoChino Mosqueda, Enzo Joson and right mix of energy guys such as JM Galinato and Shaun Ildefonso, their team captain.

It is a relatively young roster that will be fiery… not just yet. However, they will be bringing on the challenge even in the top tier teams. With their youth, you can expect that they are one of the most athletic. Offense-wise, you have two go-to-guys but the line-up needs to be used fully.

Key Losses: Dave Yu, Reggie Morido

Key Wins: Manny Mangayao, Miguel Oczon

NU will win over: UST

Will have a chance against: UE, FEU

No chance against: ADMU, UP, ADU, DLSU

NU’s strength: excellent point guards in Gallego, Mosqueda and Joson, youth

NU’s weakness: consistency of bench players, maturity, picking the right mix of starters, as well as in-game adjustments

This year is make-or-break for Mike Jarin – as it could be the third straight season they won’t make the Final 4.
